AAISP VoIP: Voice
over IP
VoIP means a lot of things to different people. To some it
means free phone calls, whilst to others it simply means a different
architecture for their office phone system. If you have ever used a low cost
carrier to call overseas, you have probably used VoIP without even realized it.
If you have ever called AAISP, you have used VoIP as that is the basis for the
office phone system.
Andrews & Arnold Ltd are *+ resellers and can
supply a complete *+ packages to provide office telephone systems to suite any
size of office or multi-site business. We even make use of VoIP over
ADSL/broadband lines. We have experience with Asterisk development as well,
having developed the landline SMS module allowing sending and receiving of SMS
on ISDN and PSTN lines from Asterisk.
Asterisk is an open source linux
based IP phone system which can be used with various cards to make an
inexpensive but powerful telephone system working with IP phones, analogue
lines and phones and ISDN lines and equipment.
Combining expertise in
telephone systems, voice over IP, firewalling/traffic shaping and broadband
internet - we can provide a solution that will allow seamless integration of
branch offices and home workers into an integrated, company wide phone
system.
National VoIP network
There is a grand scheme for
putting normal phone numbers in DNS to allow calling via VoIP (e164.arpa). This
may take some time to happen, if ever, but in the mean time there are schemes
like call.me.uk which provide a DNS delegation for Call.me.uk 04 prefix UK
numbers. This allows a national numbering plan for VoIP users in the UK to link
systems together and make those illusive free phone calls over the internet.
