When you use SAQ's VoIP service you are given access to Global Village. Global Village can be set up using your computer and takes a mere ten minutes. Once you are up and running you can call any other Global Village user in the world – absolutely free! But what happens if the person you’d like to call isn’t a Global Village user? Don’t worry – you still save money! We let you sign up with a very inexpensive service that allows you to dial through an internet gateway to the local telephone network of the person you are calling. From then on you only get charged local call rates.

VoIP is a technology that uses your broadband (ADSL) connection. SAQ's focus is to provide services using broadband technology. Fast internet connections are great for web browsing and downloading files but there's a whole lot more you can do - VoIP is just one that will save you money.

Even though you use your broadband connection to call people, this doesn’t mean you’ll be using your computer. The equipment we supply allows you to plug in any standard telephone – and hey presto you’re away! You don't even need a computer take advantage of VoIP!

You’ll still have access to your current phone network, you don’t need to change your phone number or cancel your current services. What we provide is a box that plugs into your broadband connection. You then plug a phone into it, which you’ll use to make calls to standard or VoIP numbers. In addition to your usual telephone number you also get a number for use on VoIP and that is pretty much it - there’s no change to your working patterns. In order to configure the service you’ll also need a computer, or ask SAQ to do it for you! This is a nice, simple, easy process that’ll give you the advantage of cheap or free calls to anywhere in the world.

The router integrates a VoIP phone port, ADSL modem, router, firewall, four-port 10/100 ethernet switch and USB port into a single package. To use VoIP simply plug a phone into the teleport jack and call people anywhere in the world for free*! Calls are free to other VoIP numbers. Calls to standard telephone numbers are chargable but offer a significant saving.
