Brits prefer online

Fed up with their local doctors waiting
room, almost half the population (45%) use the Internet to find medical advice,
according to PIPEX a leading broadband provider.
Whilst NHS waiting
lists are falling, a quarter of all patients cannot book a doctors appointment
three or more days in advance , and many are unable to get one at all. In light
of this, PIPEX questioned 1,000 Brits about their attitudes towards researching
their medical ailments online.
The findings reveal women to be their
most likely to ditch the doctor 51 per cent will do their own
research online, compared with 40 per cent of men. Furthermore, the findings
also show more Brits research their illnesses and ailments than shop online
(38%) and download music (43%).
