PIPEX Mums
Do Homework Whilst Kids Sleep
Never mind relaxing after a hard days
work, one in five (20%) British mums stay up and use the internet to help
finish their childs homework, according to new research from PIPEX, a
leading UK broadband provider.
In addition to helping their little ones
with tricky assignments, British mums also use their evening internet time to
research medical ailments (14%), and put off by trawling the shops on the
weekend, 16 per cent research gift ideas for friends and family.
The
findings also show that rather than help their children with their homework, a
third of men (32%) prefer to spend their evenings browsing online auction sites
for the latest bargains, whilst a further 24 per cent of men will while away
their evening downloading the latest music.
Furthermore, contrary to
the popular belief that it is men who spend their spare time playing computer
games, the findings show it is actually women (20%), who most frequently use
the internet to play online games in the evenings as opposed to men
(17%).
PIPEX surveyed 500 Britons to establish what they are most likely
to spend their evening doing online.
Dominic Crolla, Managing Director,
PIPEX Internet: "The internet is not only revolutionizing the way Britons shop,
it's also bringing new and innovative ways to help children with their
homework. You could say the internet is helping parents, help their children by
offering a whole world of imaginative ways to find information."
