PIPEX Internet broadband

As the UK's first commercial ISP, PIPEX has been a market leader for over a decade. We were the first ISP to bring the Internet to UK businesses and provided the first fully featured web community, enabling customers to create and promote their own websites. In addition, the PIPEX Dial-up network was the first to offer nationwide connection speeds at 33,600bps and 56k V90.

In order to build a solid foundation for sustained Internet growth in the UK, PIPEX played an active part in the formation of various key industry bodies such as The Internet Service Providers Association (ISPA), The London Internet Exchange (LINX) and The Internet Watch Foundation (IWF).

Though many ISPs have come and gone, PIPEX continues to be a multi award winning, financially stable and profitable ISP. Operating from locations across the UK, PIPEX runs one of the UK's most extensive communication networks, with data centres in London, Leeds, Manchester, Nottingham and Germany and is amongst the top 5 largest providers of broadband. The PIPEX group also incorporates 123-reg, a market leader in domain name registration, WebFusion, Magic Moments and Host Europe, a leading hosting provider.

With our Tier 1 status, proven track record, breadth of services and host of industry defining accreditations such as BS7799, ISO 9001:2000, PIPEX is the chosen provider for the majority of the Times' Top 100 UK Companies and tens of thousands of SMEs.

Ultimately it is the strength of the PIPEX Network that is responsible for our overwhelming success with nearly 50% of new customers joining as a result of recommendations from existing users.

Stability in everything we do

Operating in a turbulent and fast-changing environment, our approach over the years has remained resolutely stable: To deliver proven telecommunications services that help our customers achieve what they want to achieve The key question for you is will today's provider be around to meet tomorrow's challenges? At PIPEX our experience and financial backing mean that we can reassure you that we will be around long-term. We have developed through a combination of organic growth and by investing in companies that enhance our skill and service base. The result? PIPEX is a leading provider of telecommunications solutions to business and residential customers. Whether you are a small business needing advice on your first connectivity solution or you are a corporate requiring multi-site access, PIPEX helps you use the Internet to make communication simple for your business.

What We Deliver

So, what do we actually deliver to your business? PIPEX offers a complete range of Internet, hosting, security and telecommunications solutions, all developed by listening to our customers and striving to exceed their expectations. Unlike other Internet Service Providers the PIPEX range of one-stop business-class communications solutions are about delivering genuine business benefits rather than just technology - solutions designed to help customers increase productivity and profitability.

Service - how do we measure up?

It's easy to promise a service with the reliability a business demands, but for it to be delivered successfully, it needs careful planning and experience. PIPEX has a proven track record for successfully delivering business-class Internet services since its inception in 1991. Our Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for continuous operation of leased lines and associated hardware are stringent. We manage both the telecommunication circuits and the hardware provided throughout the life cycle to ensure both timely delivery and maintain specified performance levels.

Commitment to quality

Our service delivery ethos is about much more than providing you with a service and leaving it to manage itself. We have always been committed to delivering quality throughout every aspect of our operations - from initial phone contact to pre- and post-sales support. This continued commitment is reflected in PIPEX being recommended for registration to ISO 9001:2000 by the British Standards Institute after an assessment visit in December 2003. We were also one of the first ISPs to gain ISO 9001:1994 registration in March 1996.

Quality is obviously a two-way process, which is why we conduct regular customer surveys to gain your feedback and ensure that our processes are working for you. The industry has also recognised our achievements in this area, with PIPEX receiving a number of industry awards, including Best Broadband ADSL ISP of the Year 2002, ISP Review Awards, Best Business ISP at the Practical Internet Magazine Readers Awards 2003 and Best Consumer Broadband ISP at the ISPA Internet Awards 2003.

Industry accreditations

PIPEX holds a number of accreditations from major technology providers such as Cisco, Microsoft, Oracle and Citrix. This is your assurance that our solutions are based on leading edge technologies and that we meet the stringent standards set by these vendors.

PIPEX Products & Services

Drive down costs, drive up productivity, grow your customer base, and operate with limited funds... some things never change and that includes the challenges faced by organisations of all sizes. What has changed is that an organisations' telecoms infrastructure is playing an increasing role in meeting these goals.

Actually making sure this infrastructure is up and running is another potential headache in itself. At PIPEX we try and make this as pain-free as possible. Before we even get on to the subject of technology we listen to our customers and get a feel for their business - what it does, how it operates and what it wants to achieve today and in the future. Only then do we recommend a solution based around one or more of our services.
