Internet Central was founded in 1995 and was one of the first dedicated Internet Service Providers in the UK. Our company specialises in, and is focused on providing high quality connections and hosting services at a realistic price. We do not sell loss leaders or for market share but provide quality and reliability of service.

Located in Staffordshire and with our physical network currently spanning Staffordshire and Cheshire our ability to provide services in the local area is second to none. In January 2001 Internet Central was awarded an individual 'non-PTO, with code powers' telecommunications licence by the DTI. This licence enables Internet Central to build its own communications infrastructure independently from other licensed operators. As a result we can provide low cost connectivity and resilient circuits - allowing flexible solutions to our customers with a high level and quality of service.

We are members of the Internet Service Providers Association (ISPA) and Reseaux IP Europeans (RIPE) and are actively involved with the DTI and Radiocommunications agency ensuring that we keep up to date with the industry and, where appropriate, help shape it for the future. As an authorised Cisco Reseller, Actinic Gold Partner and Ensim Partner we are able to provide an extensive portfolio of products and services - including e-commerce solutions for those companies wanting to trade over the Internet.

IC's sales and support are located in Keele (Staffordshire) on the University Science Park. Our Head Office and accounts are in Hanley (Stoke-on-Trent) and we have network and facilities located across Staffordshire, Cheshire and Greater Manchester.

Broadband - ADSL

ADSL put simply is a permanent high speed connection to the Internet which is presented over your existing BT phone line, whilst using ADSL you can still make and receive telephone calls as before and still charged as before but anything you do over the ADSL line is at a fixed cost. All you do is plug in a splitter device which separates the two signals from your single line into 2.

Announcing 'MAX' IC's new high speed services, following customer requests and recent changes we are pleased to unveil our new, greatly simplified ADSL product range. Quite simply you choose the contention of your connection (Light or Office) and the service will be provided at the fastest speed available over your phone line.

Please note that on standard ADSL connections we have a standard lead time of 5-10 working days between order and install. Unless there are conflicting services or the exchange is not yet enabled - in these cases the lead-time is taken from date the line is clear to receive ADSL service.
SDSL

SDSL or should we say (G.SHDSL) is a symmetric (upload and download speeds are the same) connection to the Internet. The connections are all 10:1 contention (much lower than ADSL) and are designed for high speed data in both directions giving you the flexibility of a Leased Line but for a fraction of the cost and with little performance difference.
