VoIP! What is it? Do I need it? Where can I get
it?
These are all questions that have been buzzing around for the
last few years and even more intensely over the last 6-months. VoIP stands for
Voice-over-IP and is a new way of using the Internet to make and receive
telephone calls either for free, or at significantly reduced prices. Making
calls over the Internet has only really become possible since the mass take up
of broadband dial-up is just not fast enough to facilitate a good quality voice
call. Using a dedicated SIP phone now eliminates the need for users of VoIP to
have their PC switched on, as these new style phones work independently,
