DataDsl: Broadband - uncapped and
unlimited
Datanet's broadband service, branded as DataDSL is a fully
routed multi-user service for the business user who requires high speed
broadband connectivity, with speeds of up to 2MB. Datanet ADSL services are not
capped or time restricted, just one of the reasons why we are a leading
provider of Business ADSL in the UK. Today, thousands of businesses are looking
to high-speed broadband connections, discovering they can reduce costs and
benefit from significantly better speed and quality. Download a 5 MB file in
about 20 seconds? With Datanet DataDSL services you can access the Internet at
speeds up to 30 times faster than ISDN and download Internet files in seconds
rather than minutes. DataDSL supports fast interoffice and homeworker
connections over VPN.
SDSL Services
SDSL is part of the
DSL (broadband) family. SDSL is used to describe a high-speed symmetric
connection for Internet access over a dedicated line. Unlike ADSL (A-symmetric
Digital Subscriber Line) SDSL has equal upload and download speeds, as the name
might suggest. Due to the nature of the technology a dedicated line is required
therefore it is not possible to use it as a phone or fax line, this is one of
the main differences between SDSL and ADSL.
Datanet's SDSL service is
faster than ADSL as it has the 'same speed both ways', which means the service
is equivalent to a high-speed leased line at a much lower cost. The service
offers instant high-speed Internet access to multiple users on office networks,
with a low contention ratio of 10:1 giving a seamless, business focused
connection.
SDSL technology will improve solutions that rely extensively
on the Internet such as Virtual Private Networks, Voice over IP, Video
conferencing and point-to-point connectivity. Such services rely on large
amounts of bandwidth and low contention ratios in order to maximise the
potential of the applications.
SDSL will be connected to your network
using a dedicated SDSL router. At the other end Datanet will provide fast
Internet access, securely and efficiently. Datanet also provide customers with
a full suit of Internet services such as secure hardware firewalls, back-up
facilities, fully integrated mail systems, hosting, co-location and domain name
management.
Flat rate and always-on With Datanet's always-on
SDSL service, we also offer a flat rate pricing structure, so budgeting for
your companies Internet spend could not be easier. Implementing an SDSL
solution means that data is transmitted and received at the same speed enabling
you to maximise efficiency and productivity. These benefits are similar to
those of a leased line with out the large costs associated such a
solution.
Availability SDSL is currently available in limited
areas, this is however expanding month on month as BT endeavour to roll out the
service to many other geographic locations. Datanet can conduct a survey of
your premises on request to see if the service is available and what speed of
connection you could receive. If SDSL is available in your area, the speed of
the connection you are able to receive depends on the distance of your premises
from the local telephone exchange.
Fast, Reliable,
Secure Datanet's high-speed SDSL runs over a high performance IP
backbone, Datanet utilise multiple fibre carriers in all Data Centres to
provide true redundancy of the network. Datanet also actively peer with other
ISP's at multiple Internet Exchanges to ensure Internet traffic is routed to
its destination over the best path. Our top engineers have carefully selected
Datanet's Data Centres, as some of the most secure and reliable in the country.
The charges for an SDSL service are made up of two parts; firstly, the access
circuit costs, including any configuration by BT and then the Internet services
supplied by Datanet. As SDSL is dependant on distance from the exchange, it is
essential that Datanet conduct a survey to see if SDSL is feasible on your
premises.
