SDSL Services
SDSL is part of the
DSL (broadband) family. SDSL is used to describe a high-speed symmetric
connection for Internet access over a dedicated line. Unlike ADSL (A-symmetric
Digital Subscriber Line) SDSL has equal upload and download speeds, as the name
might suggest. Due to the nature of the technology a dedicated line is required
therefore it is not possible to use it as a phone or fax line, this is one of
the main differences between SDSL and ADSL.
Datanet's SDSL service is
faster than ADSL as it has the 'same speed both ways', which means the service
is equivalent to a high-speed leased line at a much lower cost. The service
offers instant high-speed Internet access to multiple users on office networks,
with a low contention ratio of 10:1 giving a seamless, business focused
connection.
SDSL technology will improve solutions that rely extensively

Availability
SDSL is currently available in limited
areas, this is however expanding month on month as BT endeavour to roll out the
service to many other geographic locations. Datanet can conduct a survey of
your premises on request to see if the service is available and what speed of
connection you could receive. If SDSL is available in your area, the speed of
the connection you are able to receive depends on the distance of your premises
from the local telephone exchange.

circuit costs, including any configuration by BT and then the Internet services

essential that Datanet conduct a survey to see if SDSL is feasible on your
premises.
