Orange and Wanadoo launch home
broadband offer

Orange and Wanadoo launch home broadband
offer (29/08/05)
Mobile company Orange and broadband provider
Wanadoo today gave Orange customers the chance to benefit from up to 2 Meg
broadband at home for £9.99 a month. The offer is open to new Orange
customers, while existing customers can take advantage of the deal when they
extend their Orange mobile contract.
This week, Orange also launches its
half-price line rental deal, giving customers access to 3G services for as
little as £12.50 per month. That means Orange customers will now be able
to benefit from a broadband-style experience on the move and broadband in the
home for under £23 per month.
The offer - £9.99 for
Wanadoos Wireless & Talk package - includes fast wireless internet
access from anywhere in the home as well as a voice over broadband (or VoIP)
service giving customers the benefit of a second home phone line. This
represents the best value comparable broadband deal currently available on the
market. Orange and Wanadoo, both part of the France Telecom group, are now
working together on developing further integrated offers and services.
Orange and Wanadoo are now one of the only companies to offer broadband
on the high street. In Orange retail stores nationwide, Phone Trainers are on
hand to help customers with questions about the new broadband package. They can
also help customers set up email on their phone which can be synchronised with
an email provider via the Wanadoo broadband service for use on a PC at
home.
Customers can also sign up for the broadband offer by dialling 424
from their Orange phone. The Orange customer service team is able to manage
broadband registration as well as the Orange contract extension.
Nigel Hall, Director of Convergence for Orange, said:
Orange prides itself on offering customers great value for money -
providing the best services at the best possible price. Now, by working with
our sister company Wanadoo, Orange customers can benefit from the best value
broadband offer on the market.
Eric Abensur, CEO of Wanadoo
UK, said: This offer marks the start of an exciting future of
compelling deals for customers of Wanadoo and Orange.
The
announcement follows the unveiling of France Telecoms NExT strategy which
has been developed to fulfil customer demand for a total communications
offering and will see the Wanadoo brand become Orange within the next 18
months. Wanadoo 2 Meg broadband opens a gateway of opportunity for customers to
surf the internet download videos, music and pictures.
