UK Online drives Broadband speeds up and
prices down (23/09/05)
UK Online is continuing to drive market
innovations and value, with more speed for less - unlimited 1Mb broadband now
from just £9.99 a month*. Unlimited 2Mb broadband is now also £5
cheaper, from £14.99 a month.
UK Online’s current super fast broadband
service of up to 8Mb gets an extra boost, with the upload speed almost
doubling, to a whopping 768Kb – three times faster than standard broadband
upload speeds. These changes set the stage for UK Online’s next generation
of broadband, at up to 24Mb, set to launch in October and be priced under
£30. UK Online’s non-LLU services (those delivered over the BT
network,) are also even better value, with unlimited 1Mb for £19.99, and
unlimited 2Mb for £24.99.
Chris Stening, UK Online’s General Manager,
commented: “UK Online is continuing to drive higher speeds and lower
prices for British broadband. We’re doubling the speed of our lowest cost
broadband service, to 1Mb, without introducing download limits, proving our
commitment to offer the best value unlimited broadband services in the
UK.”
*Lowest broadband prices, and highest broadband
speeds are available to customers who are in a UK Online-enabled area. UK
Online’s network currently covers 4.4million households across Britain,
and will expand to cover 5.8million households in 2006.
