Eclipse Internet

4th July 2005: Eclipse Internet
Eclipse Internet increases customers’ download speed for no extra charge

Eclipse Internet today announces that the speeds of the majority of its unlimited FLEX Home Broadband services are to be doubled for existing and new customers alike with no price change.

Customers can now experience twice the speed for the same price on all of Eclipse’s unlimited and uncapped FLEX Home services, up to 1Mbps. Customers with the FLEX Home 2000 service will instead get a monthly saving of £10 as their tariff is reduced to just £29.99 a month.

New customers can also take advantage of Eclipse’s unique ‘boostable’ FLEX Broadband service for free for one month. The FLEX part of Eclipse’s offering allows customers who have the Home 500 or Home 1000 service the chance to boost their connection up to 2Mbps when they want to increase their download speeds.

As well as increasing every customer’s current connection speed, the technical infrastructure for speeds up to 8Mbps for every customer will be put in place. Customers will then have access to this super-fast broadband speed as soon as it is available across the industry – expected by autumn 2005.

Mark Lang, founder of Eclipse Internet and Director of Broadband and ISP Development at Kingston Communications commented “Unlike other players within the broadband market, we are able to offer both new and existing customers the best mix of faster speeds, competitive pricing and excellent customer service. We are delighted to offer our customers that as soon as speeds up to 8Mbps are available, they will have the capability to use them.”

For any new customers signing up to any FLEX Home service in July, they will also receive a free modem and connection – normally costing £84.74.
