Eclipse Internet to trial
national platform for digital TV

Eclipse Internet to trial
national platform for digital TV, telephony and broadband
(04/08/05)
Eclipse Internet announces that it is starting trials today
of a new national triple-play service that incorporates digital
television, telephony and its award-winning broadband service.
Working
with Netgem, manufacturers of the highly rated next generation iPlayer+ settop
box, Eclipse Internet is creating an all-inclusive service that will allow
customers to use the range of benefits possible through the iPlayer+ box as
well as 2Mbps broadband connection and Eclipses exclusive low-cost calls
package.
The trial will provide integrated access via the TV to a full
range of Freeview and Top-Up TV channels together with content on demand and
additional broadband content by combining the normal telephone connections and
the Freeview signal.
Luke Lang, marketing manager at Eclipse Internet
commented: This trial is the next step to providing the first national
triple-play service where customers receive all the benefits of
digital TV and a high-quality, reliable 2Mbps broadband service along with
low-cost telephone calls - all from one supplier.
Eclipses
new IPTV offering is set to be launched later this year.
