AOL
Broadband Exclusive broadband content during summer
holidays
AOL has launched two new online areas for its younger
users, which will focus on providing fun and alleviating boredom during the
summer holidays.
'Zoo' and 'X', for kids and teenagers respectively,
are primarily aimed at AOL Broadband members, as they provide exclusive online
video content not previously available in the UK, such as the highly popular
Princess Natasha cartoons, which will only be available on Zoo.
The
'Summer of Fun' initiative also includes interactive elements where users can
post their own reviews of films and music, as well as participate in exclusive
moderated chat rooms on Zoo.
As the summer holidays draw to a close, an
additional 'Back to School' area will be added, drawing on AOL's established
Learning Channel to provide educational content based on the National
Curriculum and including features such as Homework Help and some foreign
language learning modules.
David Gilbey, Vice President at AOL UK said:
"The summer holidays can be great fun for children and parents alike, but if
the weather lets us down, it makes sense to have some alternative entertainment
up your sleeve.
With the proper safeguards and parental supervision in
place, the Internet can be a fantastic tool for both entertainment and
education, especially with the enhanced services now available with broadband."
