An Internet Marketing challenge

www.Broadband-123.co.uk was launched in February 2005 as a 'weekend project' and on the strength of a challenge to build a broadband comparison site as quickly as possible using free software, minimal knowledge of html, part-time hours and a second user (free of charge) five year old Pentium II PC that was very much on it's last legs. Success was to be measured via search engine positioning on Google, MSN and Yahoo; on actual traffic to the site and most significantly, on financial returns. And from a more altruistic perspective, the challenge was to show that just about anyone, with a little persistence, can build a secondary income stream via online reseller / affiliate opportunities.

The site was built using trial versions of a very old program called Hot Metal Pro, along with free versions of Paint Shop Pro (Version 7) and Banner Shop GIF Animator...hardly the tools of choice for any self respecting web professional.

Despite this and without any professional qualification, training or professional Internet Marketing advice, Broadband-123.co.uk has yielded a steadily increasing income stream via broadband affiliate income, Google adsense revenue and a number of other online reseller schemes.

The sites first broadband sale was via DGMPRO on 12th March 2005 and was for Tiscali broadband (£10) and 24 months on, it's interesting to note that the sites most popular broadband products are sold via Tiscali broadband.

Currently, direct agreements are in place with Orange, Tiscali and The Utility Warehouse, with all remaining broadband sales being facilitated via DGMPRO, Tradedoubler and Buy.at.

Whilst this site may not be quite as slick as it's better funded competitor broadband comparison sites, we hope that you find some benefit in it's pages. If your reason for visiting this site is to compare and purchase broadband, then we hope that our broadband listings are helpful and if you are an aspiring 'spare-time' Internet entrepreneur in pursuit of affiliate income, then we hope that our story of a second hand PC and free software inspires your cause.
